The Roots Of Plastic Surgery

“A testimony to this is the fact that reconstructive surgery is one of the most ancient human practices” (Marie Carz David). After finishing the last episode of Nip Tuck last night, I began to realize that plastic surgery is still even in this recession a successful and popular profession. Not only is it used for medical practices, but now the entertainment world has produced several shows based on procedure’s and the outcomes.

The whole world loves to see the “before’s and after’s,” and this is how these doctor’s draw their patients in. As Christian Troy, and Sean McNamara say in the beginning of every episode; “Tell us what you don’t like about yourself?” People are constantly obsessing over their flaws and need this look of perfection to satisfy their needs.

The reason I chose Marie’s article is because if you look at the history of plastic surgery it was mostly for, actually pretty much only for medical needs. Soldiers who were severely wounded in war were plastic surgeons frequent patients. It wasn’t until the 60′s and 70′s where people became curious and wanted to change their looks. “Then, during the 1990s the industry had another growth spurt. Many innovations not just in plastic surgery but in the overall field of aesthetic enhancement took place in the last couple of decades.

Among these were non-abrasive liposuction’s, breakthrough skin appearance enhancements and other treatments and procedures that allowed a person to alter his appearance and his body” (Marie Carz David). Plastic surgery procedures are now brainwashed into society that one must be perfect and “us doctor’s” can help you with that. Money is not even an issue, if that stomach you currently have can vanish in 3 hours versus a year of healthy eating and working out, why the heck not?

I find it hysterical to see these mannequin women who are unable to show emotion due to their tight faces and botoxed foreheads walk around as if they are the most beautiful creatures in the world. Have to hand it to the marketing campaigns; you guys have successfully created beautiful monsters! Today, I want you to look in the mirror, find three great characterisics that you love about yourself. Continue to do this every morning, and you will see that there is so much more to love than that tiny bit of celulate on your leg!

Beauty is in the beholder!

The Best Places To Wander Into

“So what attracts you into a store? Is it the display in the window, the aroma, the guy out front waving a sign around, or just plain curiosity?” (Ander Lilla).

One of my favorite verbs; wander. It’s amazing how much one can take in when you just step outside of your home. The smells, the sounds, the sights, the colors, if you just step back and take it all in you can realize that the world is full of wonder, and beauty. When going somewhere, or doing something, most people feel comforted with having a schedule. Like Ander says in this intriguing article, sometimes wandering will bring you to an exciting and unique space where one would never even think to go to. There are so many times where my significant other, and I will just wander and let our five senses lead us throughout the day.  We’ve discovered so many nooks, and cheap eats just from wandering. Like Ander, a great smell is my weakness, especially when it comes to the smell of foods. Ander’s glorious nose dragged her into a fudge spot where now she frequently attends.

There’s always room for fudge in my life as well! So I would like all of you readers, to take a step back today and smell the roses. You never know where life will take you! Humour Your Way To Success

“The degree to which that person will find something humorous will depend on a lot of factors that include but are not limited to: age, gender,
intelligence, maturity, education, culture, upbringing, geographical location, religion, context and health (physical, mental and spiritual)” (Nirjara Rustom).

Monday morning blues? Awkward moments in a conversation? Important interview? Meeting someone for the first time? Comforting a companion or a friend? Having a sense of humor is a wonderful way to help resolve most of these issues. Laughter is the best natural medicine and it can also help you in a lot of ways. Nirjara makes an excellent point that being humorous is a great ice breaker! Laughter is comforting, and such a positive feature in everyone. Who doesn’t like to laugh? Who doesn’t like a funny or even corny awful joke? Think of when you were younger, everyone loved the class clown! He brought spirit and humor to the classroom, although giving the teacher a new excuse to take more Xanax!

Being humorous should be regulated to a certain degree, sometimes things that are supposed to be funny to someone or about something can inevitably be hurtful in the end. You never want to the be “that guy” or “that girl” that causes people to walk away mumbling under their breath. Nirjara brings up great advice in excelling in the humor side of yourself; always aim the jokes towards yourself that way no one else will feel uncomfortable, bring up funny past stories or instances that have occurred in your life, and most importantly be yourself.

Everyone knows when a comedian tries too hard, in the end the only sounds you hear are yawns, and sigh’s which defeats the purpose of going to a comedy show! So on this glorious Wednesday, sit back, drink your coffee, or tea, or soda (my morning choice!), and think of something or someway to make you and another person smile! It will benefit both of you, and get you through this crazy day that lies ahead! Feel free to comment and write some jokes! I can use a great laugh!

Six Factors In Choosing A Movie

“What is it about a movie that grabs your curiosity and excites you enough to run to the theatre? Is it the reviews? Are you such a movie fan that you watch every movie possible? Is it the genre, the actors, the plot?” (Frank Bilotta).

If it weren’t for trailers these days, picking a movie would be almost impossible. Trailers are a great way to lure you into viewing that particular film, however sometimes the trailers embellish the movie too much and the movie in fact is quite disappointing. How many times have you thought to yourself, ‘I had more enjoyment watching the trailer, than I do the film!’.  Frank makes a valid point that sometimes a controversial film, or even a specific director/actor can lure a large audience in without even using an appealing trailer. For instance, the new film Inception. When viewing the trailer, I and most of the audience were left baffled and unaware of what this potential film is all about; yet because Leonardo DiCaprio, and director Christopher Nolan were involved, opening night was quite a success! Statistically, people are comforted with familiarity. So the next time you, or you and a friend/significant other want to see a film use Frank’s Six Fun Factor’s to choose your movie wisely! That way you won’t leave the theater dissatisfied and sick from all the movie food you consumed in trying to keep yourself occupied during the movie! (Don’t think you’re the only one, we’ve all went down that road, and my what a wrong choice that was!).

How To Overcome Self Sabotage And Acquire Dating Confidence

“Self sabotage isn’t a new concept. It is something that many humans are extremely good at. We can stop ourselves from achieving our hearts desire in so very many different ways” (Roseanna Leaton).

The dating world is one of the most enjoyable yet stressful times in a person’s life. There are so many obstacles that one must go through even before the date starts! It is quite exhausting! Yet, most of these worries, and lack of confidence jeopardize a person’s dating lifestyle, which inevitably leads to giving up, or not trying at all.  The whole concept of “if I don’t try I won’t get hurt” will only temporarily patch up your lack of confidence. Like Roseanna says, it will hurt you even more in the long run. Everyone knows that dating and first impressions are stressful, however, if it’s meant to be, the significant other will surpass or not even recognize the flaws you’ve been obsessing or were obsessing about.  Roseanna’s concept on Self Rehearsal is an excellent way to shape up for a perfect dating experience. Just like rehearsing before an important interview. Dating is very similar to an interview, and without some personal practice, and self confidence you have the risk of failure. So in conclusion, all you single fantastic people out there, keep your head up high, and eliminate all of that negative energy!

The Power Of The Written Word

“Book lovers will vouch that the written word will never go out of fashion” (Araceli Craft)

Being that I just purchased an I-Pad last weekend, and have downloaded every online book app that is offered; I’ve come to the realization that that crisp paper book of The Great Gatsby lying on my night stand, will still be my nightly read. Yes, electronic books are a great concept, and give the opportunity to search, and purchase a book in the matter of seconds; however there is still that yearning for many people to walk into a book store and search through the thousands of novels it has to offer. Like Araceli says, E-Books do have more incentives, like switching the languages, saving that trip to the book store, and most important, saving money in general (everyone knows how expensive hard cover’s can get!).  Overall this article is very interesting and who knows where the future will take us. What is really comical is the fact that the “Classics” are offered on E-Books. Can you imagine Joyce, Hemingway, and Fitzgerald all reading their E-books in the Parisian cafe’s?

10 Reasons Why Organic Food Cost More

“What we do know for sure is that organic produce contains no herbicides, pesticides, chemical fertilizers, insecticides, growth hormones, GMOs, antibiotics, artificial additives, flavorings, colorings and chemical preservatives etc……. So you are putting less toxins into your body when consuming organic foods” (Celine).

This article has a great concept going for it, everyone is always curious and angered at the fact that organic foods cost much more yet they are much better for you. Buying non organic produce, and products are cheaper by only a few cents, yet they contain hormones, pesticides, artificial additives, etc. In the long wrong you will be paying more for hospital bills because you wanted to save the extra $1.00 for a non organic product.

We all need food, food keeps us alive, why put harmful products in your body? Your body relies on you to keep it healthy, and up to par. Going organic is a commitment and will be a bit pricey, but in the long run your body will thank you for it.

“How Article Niche Changed my Life”

I am a young graduated college student who’s dream was to bake. I began giving out my pastries, to friends and family and everyone insisted on me publicizing my craft. What makes my baking different from others is that I do it not based on measurements but what I feel will make my pastries exceptional. I have tested several recipes, and have added several ingredients that one would think wouldn’t belong in the pastry and BAM, amazing perfection!

Yes there were many times I failed, but with trial and error comes success! I finally got my confidence up and decided to write an article on Niche Classifieds, asking people to taste my pastries. My blogs, and other social media posts weren’t helping; it wasn’t until Article Niche that my dream is slowly taking off. People other than friends and
