Creative Writing Techniques

“You can write fiction, non-fiction, poetry, basically anything goes. Anyone can learn to write creatively” (Tracey Tressa). No wonder why Tracey received  “most viewed” and “highest rating” awards! Her article rocks! Everyone can write; however there are so many techniques in the creative writing field that can help you write better. Remember, there is always room for improvement. Being that I was an English Major, reading and writing are my two favorite hobbies. Tracey gives a great tutorial on different techniques to give you structure for your creative work.

“Flashbacks are a great way to explain something in the past while keeping your story in the present. Flashbacks are usually used when something happened in the characters past that’s important to the story. If it’s not useful, don’t mention it. Foreshadowing is similar to flashback, but it deals with the future. Foreshadowing is used when you want to hint about something that may happen in the future” (Tracey Tressa). Symbolism is another intriguing technique to use, it gives your simple story far more meaning. Remember a good author writes everything purposeful. Each word, each punctuation, each paragraph break…all done for a REASON.

To all my writers and readers out there focus on Tracey’s techniques, and you will see an improvement in your writing and reading as well! To read Tracey’s full article click:

A Simple Wish

“The stars start to move into the shape of your face” (Frances Bonnie). What a wonderful and passionate poem! In my opinion a “great” poem isn’t just about creativity; it’s when you read the poem and you can feel the poet’s passion and love through their words.

Frances does a great job in doing that. Her brief creative lines in her poem are fascinating, and flow beautifully. I also love the celestrial symbolism she uses; it’s as if her and her love share this dream like romance. A romance that every girl dreams to have! Lucky her!

Organic Yummy Products Recipes

“Our bodies get the vitamins and minerals needed without the chemicals and hormones that pollute every other food on the market. Many people think that organic food doesn’t taste good simply because it’s healthy” (Frank Bilotta). I’ve always been a fan of organic, and have attempted to buy as much organic and range free foods as possible. Yet more frequently then never, I do go to my local grocery store and shop there.

However, after my recent trip to California (where if you don’t do organic, you are pretty much looked down upon); I’ve come to realize that you can taste quite a difference between organic and non organic foods. I’ve discovered a wonderful niche supermarket called Wild by Nature, where everything is organic and they even have meals that you can just pop in the oven/microwave and “Voila!” dinner for two in twenty minutes!

Trader Joes, and Whole Foods are also wondrous places for organic foods. I highly suggest that you read Frank’s full article as he was nice enough to list foods and a bunch of fun meals to make that are purely made from organic foods. If you do a bit of research you will find out that generic milks, cheeses, produce, and meats are all loaded with pesticides, hormones, and a ton of other (pardon my language) CRAP. These special ingredients will effect you both mentally and physically in the long run.

It is quite scary to find out how these food and drink industries manage their businesses, it’s inhumane for not only the animals but for the potential consumers; aka US! Do me a favor, this week stroll through an organic supermarket, perhaps pick up a lunch or some essential groceries. Try them out, and then go back to the generic groceries. You will taste a difference! Good luck, and Go organic!! Woop woop!

How To Find Your Soul Mate

“It is important to feel whole and complete within yourself before seeking to find your soul mate for more reasons than one” (Roseanna Leaton). Today is just one of those days where I find myself smiling knowing that I have found someone who mutually shares the feelings of compassion and love. Love; the word of passion and envy. For all of you who don’t think they will ever find love, and wake up each day having these negative feelings; most likely you won’t find love.

Like Roseanna says, you must feel confident and content with yourself before seeking a significant other. “Good relationships are more easily built from a feeling of strength than from a position of vulnerability. Not only that, in feeling confident and relaxed you are more likely to get out and about and give yourself the opportunity to meet new people; if you stay home and lounge around in pajamas watching the TV you are highly unlikely to even get into a position where you might meet your soul mate!” (Roseanna Leaton). So stop feeling sorry about yourself, stop watching these phony love stories and  STOP expecting a prince to come to your window!

THAT WILL NEVER HAPPEN! Also, another big tip: don’t fall in love so easily, the majority of the time will end in hurt and failure. It’s all about time, and getting to know the person. Friendship then romance is a core key in starting a relationship. “There is a soul mate for everyone; in fact there are probably many potential soul mates for each of us” (Roseanna Leaton).

This weekend, get some friends together, go out with your head up high! Who knows maybe your soul mate will be there? Don’t give up, have faith! He or she is out there, and once you meet; you will know, and it will feel fantastic.

…”And they lived happily ever after…”
